Congratulations to All of our Receptionist and Concierge Recognition Nominees
There are so many people who make it possible for us to care for our residents, especially through a series of challenging years.
This month, we have chosen to recognize our Receptionist and Concierge nominees. These teammates have been instrumental in creating a positive and welcoming first impression, and a comforting, resourceful presence for our existing residents and families. Their kindness, encouragement, and personal engagement make our communities joyful places to be.
Please join us in congratulating the following nominees for their hard work, endless compassion and authenticity:
Beth Williams
Traditions at Solana
Beth has been with Solana since we opened our doors in 2014. She is a force of nature who is very dedicated to our residents and who puts her heart and soul into everything she does! Our residents and visitors love that she is the familiar face seemingly always here to welcome them.
Beth is thoughtful, always remembering things about residents, family members and staff. She is very organized, which really comes in handy at the front desk. She uses her ‘mom skills’ and always knows where everything and everyone is at all times! Beth is a trusted sentry at the front door and takes protecting our dear residents very seriously. We are very lucky to have her here!
When she’s not at work, she is a super-dedicated mother and grandmother.
Timberly Snyder
Traditions at Solana
Timberly joined Solana as an evening/weekend receptionist over the summer. She immediately clicked with the rest of our staff. She loves coming to Solana because she loves the residents and staff, and she is cheerful, funny and puts everyone at ease. Timberly is a great ambassador for Solana! She is also an excellent sentry at our front door who takes protecting our dear residents very seriously. We are very lucky to have her!
When Timberly is not at work, she is a rockstar caregiver for her mom.
Erin Bell
Park Place Senior Living
Erin has been with us for about a year and what a year it has been! She is a top-notch employee and we couldn’t do our jobs without her. Such a wonderful asset here at Park Place, doing whatever is asked of her without hesitation, asking what else she can do to help, and all of this with a smile on her face. Families are always saying how welcoming and helpful she is.
Erin manages all of our Covid testing, documentation and helps keep everything organized. She is without a doubt an incredible team player and goes above and beyond daily, including delivering packages personally, assisting residents, organizing, answering the phone and making us laugh!
Thank you, Erin, you are so appreciated here and are a REAL life Cinderella. We mean that in the nicest way possible!!
Sandy Raabe Traditions at North Bend | Brenda Dick Traditions at North Bend |
We cannot nominate just one receptionist because both of ours are the best a building could ask for and the glue that holds everything together here at North Bend.
It’s hard to say enough about Brenda and Sandy. They are dependable, friendly and efficient at their jobs, striving to make sure the front desk runs smoothly each day. It gets very busy up there at times and they always rise to the challenge. If asked to do something, we can rest assured the task will be completed on time and correctly.
Brenda and Sandy work well together and with residents, visitors and other team members. They are the first face visitors see when they enter the building and they take the time to get to know residents and families and form friendships.
Lynn Sparks
Traditions of Columbus
Lynn knows absolutely everyone in Columbus. She is a retired teacher and was eager to work for Traditions. She has been here since our doors opened and is a ball of energy who is extremely fun to have at our front desk. Lynn is caring, compassionate and able to connect with residents, as well as very empathetic to their needs. She makes Traditions a better place by being here.
Lynn’s husband delivers their newspaper to one of our residents every day after he reads it. And Lynn has gone out on her own to buy groceries and deliver meals to Villa residents. She is a keeper!
Jaala Fischer
Traditions of Columbus
Jaala has also been with us from day one. She is so very kind to the residents and they absolutely love her. Jaala holds down the fort at the front desk, embracing all of the changes that have happened with Covid. She has stepped up and helped in several departments, earned her TCNA for nursing, helped in the dining room and is hosting a day of Disney activities this month.
Jaala truly cares about our residents and does everything within her power to make their days brighter. We love having her on our team!
Pat Lehman
Meadow Brook Senior Living
Pat has been an employee and the face of the community since July of 2017. She goes above and beyond in answering resident and family questions with professionalism, compassion, empathy and a little bit of humor. She shows her love for our residents by taking time to ask about their days, their visits with family, hair appointments and any plans they have coming up.
Pat is an amazing employee, co-worker and advocate for everyone who comes in contact with her.
Jan Adzic
Middleton Senior Living
Jan has been with Middleton since May of 2016 and greets everyone with a smile, whether it’s on the phone or in person. She is the face and voice of Middleton. Jan handles her receptionist responsibilities with class and dignity and makes sure visitors, families and residents are taken care of no matter how great or small their needs. Her attention to detail is second to none, and her willingness to help other departments is greatly appreciated.
Jan’s positive attitude is contagious and she is a valuable asset to Middleton.
Genna Korte
Traditions at Hunter Station
Genna goes above and beyond each and every day. She has a deep need to keep learning and takes the time to ask questions about every area of the community so she can best assist residents and families. Genna knows what activity is next, who is coming in for tours, all the residents’ names and all the family members’ names. Each time I have a tour, she makes a big deal when greeting our guests, introducing herself and letting them know they’ve come to the right place.
Residents feel heard and valued with Genna; she’s never met a stranger. She has formed a special bond with one of our residents who suffers from expressive aphasia, and Genna is able to communicate her needs when others may not be able.
If Genna has someone coming in, the phone ringing and a resident in front of her, she somehow makes sure to make each person feel important. It is common to see Genna jumping up from behind the desk to open the front door, help with a wheelchair and you can always tell she is brightly smiling behind her mask!
We are grateful for the care and compassion Genna shows everyone.
Lauren Miller
Traditions of Deerfield
Lauren is so sweet to the residents and professional to families and visitors, always making such a great first impression. The front desk can be difficult at times, but she is a very kind young lady whom all of our residents and families love. We appreciate her attitude and willingness to go above and beyond.
Ken Holden
Ashton Grove Senior Living
There aren’t adequate words to truly explain how very special Ken is to Ashton Grove. His pastoral and compassionate presence makes the culture here so authentic and welcoming.
Ken is the perfect concierge. He just ‘gets it’ when it comes to first impressions and welcoming everyone as if they are the most important person to walk through the door at Ashton Grove (because they are!). He always has an encouraging word, personal touch and kind demeanor. We have never seen him upset or off his game. And he keeps the candy bowl full, makes sure everyone is smiling and plays the best music.
Ken writes a monthly ‘Ken’s Pen’ for our newsletter. He also hosts ‘Coffee with Ken’ every Wednesday morning before his shift. Walking passed Ken and the men during this time is joy to our ears. He often visits residents on his days off and is always willing to listen or offer prayer to the residents and staff.
Ken doesn’t have to try to promote Ashton Grove—he is Ashton Grove. His love and connection with people make him a perfect choice to be the first person you see when you visit AG. So many of us hope to grow up to be like Ken one day. We are so incredibly fortunate to have him on the AG team.
Trinity Williams
Traditions at Brookside
Trinity is such a gem at what she does for Traditions at Brookside and for our residents, and it all comes so naturally for her. She is always willing to do whatever is asked of her and do it with a smile and extreme kindness. Residents love when she is at the desk, and they always stop to chat with her. They know if they need anything she is there.
We are lucky to have Trinity as part of our team and appreciate everything she does!
Kelli Buckenmeyer
Traditions at West Park Place
Kelli is a newer member of the front desk team and what a dedicated, hard worker she is. She is always there to lend a hand to Debbie, the residents or any manager, is kindhearted and always willing to listen.
Given that the front desk can be hectic at times, Kelli is composed and manages the chaos with grace and kindness. Our team is very thankful that she chose to be a part of the West Park Place team. Thank you for all that you do, Kelli, you are very much appreciated.
Rachel Balke
Traditions at Reagan Park
Rachel is one of the kindest and most patient people you will ever meet. She creates a positive and lasting impression with visitors and receives ongoing compliments. In fact, she has been mentioned in almost every survey as a person residents and families appreciate most.
Rachel has a keen ability to listen and empathize with others, which has made her a trusted go-to person for many of our residents. They trust her to help them through whatever difficulty or challenge they are facing.
When you ask Rachel what she likes about working at Traditions, she will often tear up explaining the love she feels for the community. She has a heart of gold and will do whatever she can to help, including working extra shifts, taking on side projects and, most recently, she has become our official Covid tester with her Medical Assistant Certification.
We sincerely appreciate everything Rachel does for our residents, our community and our team. She is a jewel and we are so very blessed to have her as part of our team!
Donna Anderson
Traditions at North Willow
Donna is absolutely amazing! She is the face of North Willow, welcoming everyone who enters the door with a smile. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to makes sure our residents (and their dogs) are happy and comfortable.
I honestly cannot say enough about her. It is virtually impossible to meet Donna and not fall in love with her and her infectious smile. I consider myself lucky to know her and appreciate everything about her more than words could express.
Thank you, Donna, for everything you bring to my life and to North Willow. We adore you!
